The Neuzel Project from behind

For some reason I don’t have a good shot from behind when Casey first moved in.  This was probably a couple months after moving in and just the beginning of the massive yard clean up.  You may think, wow that’s a lot of garbage bags, well that’s NOTHING!  The grand total when the yard was finished was somewhere in the range of 60 bags.  But enough about yard clean up for now…I’ll get to that later.

Look at the lovely windows we had.  They really kept the heat in.  And that eve – yeah, that’s plywood.  So hot.  You’ll also notice the lovely two toned paint job.  For some reason the before the bank would approve the sale they wanted Casey to paint the areas that the paint was pealing.  Is that standard protocol? Here we are at Christmas time!  And what did Santa bring?  New window in the back!  We added two to the master and the one for the office on the left.  There wasn’t a window in the rear for the office to begin with.

Next up, over a year later (we were doing stuff people!) we added siding, trim to the windows, shingles, and  closed in the eves.  The shingles made such a huge difference giving this blank slate some character, dontcha think!

I was playing project manager here painting my nails and drinking beers – but was helping by keeping my man company.

Notice the pretty eves, mmmm.  I wish they could have stayed wood, but Casey wanted to paint them, you win some, you lose some.

Siding going up…

And here we are today.  We painted the shake white for now to seal them.  This weekend we plan to paint the house.  You can see I didn’t take the color decision lightly…I think Casey could have thrown a dart at the wall to make the decision.
Up next I’ll get our painting pictures up and then we’ll move inside 🙂

About The Neuzel Project

Neuzel is the combination of Neuman and Benzel. Now that Casey and I have been married for 3 years, we could probably be the Neuman Project, but I still love the time we were the Neuzels so it will remain.
